African Cup of Nations

We are down to the final 8 teams of the tournament.  There were a few surprises with Togo holding off Tunisia and Cape Verde getting through as well.

There is no denying that the top half of the bracket is by far the stronger side.  The weakest team is probably South Africa, but hosting the tournament has given them an additional advantage.  When you include the home advantage South Africa is receiving, 4 of the top 8 African nations are on that half of the bracket.  The Ivory Coast still should reach the final, but the road is not an easy one.

The bottom half of the bracket, however, is where there could be some value.  Ghana has the 12th, 18th, and 20th ranked African squads on their side.  I very much like the Ghanaians to reach the final.  If the final happens to be Ghana vs. Ivory Coast, there is no way Ghana would be priced at the +400 they are getting now.

I am sticking to my guns and think it will be an Ivory Coast–Ghana final.
