WGF is Looking for International Blogs to Feature

International Blog Index

As We Global Football passes a year of existence, we want to thank the many of you that have helped support this venture. To date, we have received visitors to the site from almost 170 countries across the globe. We’ve only met some of you, and we would like to meet many more. If you’re ever in New York City, we’d love to get together for a pint.

We’ve done some reflecting recently on strengths and weaknesses of the site and the goals of We Global Football. We continue to strive to bring the best and most unique international football experience across the web. To be able to do that, we need to address areas of weakness.

We are good at statistics. We have custom rankings, qualifying pot projections, tournament simulators, score projections for every international match, and custom competition trackers users can download. We’re extremely proud of this work, and there is no other place to find all of this information in one place. We will continue to grow and evolve to provide more content that cannot be found anywhere else.

Where we lack the resources is in the detail. You cannot find information at We Global Football about players from specific countries, squad call-ups, managerial changes, transfers, and the other intricacies that fans of specific teams want to know. And that’s OK. That was never our intention. But as we’ve made connections over the past year, we’ve come to realize how many truly great places there are for people to find that information. We want to connect this network of the best websites from around the world.

What we are proposing is a Unified Joint Index of International Blogs, aka the UJ Index. When a visitor comes to WGF looking for information about England, as usual they can find past matches, upcoming matches, and any analysis related to England. What we’d like to do as well is have one or more links right at the top of the England page directing visitors to your website where they can find even more detail about the England squad. These links would also appear in the UJ Index, where visitors could go to great websites for any nation and get all of the information they want. By doing this, through We Global Football, visitors can get the most comprehensive international football experience anywhere.

We think this is a great opportunity to not only promote the international game, but also promote the other outstanding blogs that deserve recognition. While we appreciate any mutual support, we want to make it clear that we are asking for nothing in return for promoting these blogs on We Global Football. We do appreciate mutual support, but our goal is to create a hub for football fans to get the most and best possible information in one place. We also will not be including any and all blogs. We want to make sure that anyone we promote is of top class, consistent, and reliable. We also would like you to confirm with us that you would like your blog to be included.

If you would like to be part of the index, please contact us via Twitter @We_Global, or send an email to briff@weglobalfootball.com detailing your website and providing us with links so that we can make sure it is right for us. Additionally, if you have a favorite blog or website that would be perfect for the index, feel free to let us know, and we will reach out to them. Thank you for your continued support of We Global Football.

Sincerely,
Brandon and Matt
